Nominate a charity for a £1,000 donation
Carlisle United Football Club are given the opportunity, every year, to present a cheque for £1,000 to two local charities as part of the FA Community Shield distribution fund – cash raised from the Community Shield fixture and distributed to all 124 clubs who compete in the FA Cup from the first round proper onwards.
This year we are asking our fans to nominate local charities they feel could benefit from this donation – be that for equipment, resources or enhancements to the service they provide.
If you would like your favourite charity to be considered for this £1,000 donation, please email us detailing your reasons why (in no more than 50 words) – closing date for applications is Tuesday 10 February 2015.
Successful applicants will be notified by email as soon as the distribution process has been confirmed.
Please note – nominated charities must be registered with the Charity Commission and must have a valid registration number (exceptions to this are those organisations officially exempt from registration - some educational and religious establishments.
The charity must also operate in the local area and must not be a national charity, or operate as a branch on behalf of a national charity.
