Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Paul Corry extends until May

Carlisle United can confirm that Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Paul Corry has extended his loan spell until midnight on 2 May 2015.

Corry, 24, joined the Cumbrians in  March in made his debut from the bench during the 0-0 away draw at York. 

He has made a total of five appearances for the Blues and scored his first goal when a long range free kick skipped off the surface and nestled in the top corner at Oxford.

Manager Keith Curle said: “We’ve seen what Paul brings to the squad and we have seen how well he can use the ball in midfield.

“We’re delighted that he’s staying with us because he is very professional in his approach and he wants to help us as much as he can. There’s more to come from him but he has had a very good start.”

Corry has represented the Republic of Ireland at all levels up to U21 and won the FAI Umbro U17 Cup in 2009 with Belvedere FC. 

He signed for the Owls for an undisclosed fee in August 2012 and made his debut in English football against Southampton in September that year. He joined Tranmere on loan in February 2013 where he made six appearances.
