CUMBERLAND CUP: United 4 - 0 Longtown

United through to third round in the Cumberland Cup

Carlisle United were comfortable winners against Longtown FC in the second round of this season's Cumberland Cup.

Goals from Jack Elliott, Carl Taylor, Connor Thomson and Connor Hammell secured United's place in the third round.

10 mins - Strong opening ten minutes from United but no clear cut chances so far.

12 mins - A corner was cleared to the edge of the box but Rudd could only fire over the bar from 30 yards.

18 mins - Connor Hammell found Matt Douglas from the corner but his header was well saved. A shot from Mikey Quigley from the following corner was cleared off the line.

27 mins - 1-0 United - Jack Elliott scored after an unfortunate slip from a Longtown defender.

30 mins - Longtown's first corner was headed clear by Joe Robson.

39 mins - Good work from Marshall and Elliott on the left brought another United corner which was cleared.

Half time - United 1-0 Longtown

50 mins - A Hammell cross was turned in by Carl Taylor at the back post. 2-0 United.

55 mins - Connor Thomson slotted home after a good break from a Longtown free kick. 3-0 United.

62 mins - Longtown didn't clear but White's volley from just inside the area went over the bar.

65 mins - 4-0 United. Hammell scored after Elliott, Thomson and Hurley had shots blocked.
