Experienced Burnley side wins behind closed doors game

An experienced Burnley side beat United 2-0 in a very worthwhile behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday afternoon with first team squad members Mark Beck, Patrick Brough, Sean O'Hanlon and Dave Symington getting more valuable pitch time under their belts.

"It was a good game and very worthwhile going along," first team coach Tony Caig said. "It was always going to be difficult because they started with eight lads who are involved with their first team set up.

"They had a lot of experience and quality on show but we stuck to our game plan and we created some decent chances along the way."

"We included five trialists and I thought everyone played well," he continued. "We held our shape and made them work hard. Mark Beck stood out for us up front, he held it up and brought others into the game, and we come away feeling pleased with what we saw."

We'll get reaction to this game from manager Keith Curle at his Thursday morning press conference.
