INJURY: Scan confirms small tear

Better news for injured defender

Defender Danny Livesey will be absent for approximately two to three weeks as he recovers from a small tear to the calf sustained during the first half of the weekend away game at Orient.

Livesey, 28, pulled up inside the penalty area as he stretched to make an interception at the Matchroom Stadium and immediately signalled to the bench that he felt something was wrong.

The tall defender, who has made over 300 appearances for the Cumbrians in his eight-year stay at the club, had a scan on Monday morning which confirmed the small tear in the calf muscle.

He has scored three goals in his 36 appearances this season and has become a vital part of some much-improved defensive displays alongside fellow centre back Sean O’Hanlon since the turn of the year.
