CUMBERLAND FA: Taster session announced

11 December 2013

Female only programme for disabled women

Cumberland FA is pleased to announce a new female only programme for disabled women to come along and give football a try.

The number of disabled people regularly playing and access football in Cumberland has increased hugely over the past 18 months. The Carlisle United Ability Counts League sees over 60 disabled adults competing monthly at Penrith Leisure Centre; this including 3 women’s teams from across the county in our women’s League.

On Tuesday 17 December 2013 Cumberland FA will host a Women’s Disability Football Taster session.  The session will invite Disabled Women aged 16+ to come along and give football a go, in a fun and friendly environment.  Day Service providers, Disability Organisations, Care Groups and anyone involved in the disability sector are welcome to come along and take a look.

The taster session will be held on Tuesday 17 December in the Active Zone at Hallwood Rd, Lillyhall Business Park, Cumbria, CA14 4JN.

It is free to disabled women aged 16 and over regardless of ability or experience.

Please note - pan-disability football caters for all disabilities, however, it is not suitable for wheelchair users.
