Andy Welsh on the Blades game
Midfielder Andy Welsh came back into the side for the trip to Brammall Lane on Monday and played a big part in what was an entertaining game.
“To be back and playing again is always nice,” he said.
“I thought I had a decent game and it was obviously good to get a result and to keep the points coming on board.”
“I had a couple of chances but they didn’t quite come off for me,” he explained. “The shot was close but I think the early header was probably a bit too high. I did well to get my head on it in the end.
“The important thing was the team performance and that’s what you need when you go to places like Sheffield United. You have to get their crowd to turn on them, and we managed that’s exactly what we achieved.”
“We’re all just looking forward to the Oldham game now,” he said. “Hopefully I’ll be involved, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
“It’s very frustrating to be on the sidelines because nobody wants that, for whatever reason. I feel every time I’ve been called upon I’ve more than proved what I’m capable of. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep my place and continue to play well until the end of the season.”
