Heavy rain leads to call-off
Tonight's match at Bury was called off following a 6.30pm pitch inspection as heavy rain throughout today made some areas of the Gigg Lane pitch unplayable.
Referee Mark Brown held three pitch inspections prior to making the final decision, but with no signs of conditions easing he confirmed to club officials that safety reasons were his prime concern.
"We've kept an eye on it since we got to the ground and the fact that the rain didn't stop meant that it wasn't going to get any better," he said.
"We took a ball onto the surface with us and it wasn't bouncing, so there was only one decision we could make."
