Tom Anderson joined Carlisle United on loan from Shrewsbury Town in September 2026, returning to Brunton Park for a second spell after previously representing the Blues during the 2014/15 season.

The experienced centre-back came through at Burnley and gained valuable senior experience through loan spells with Hyde, FC Halifax Town, Chesterfield, Port Vale and Doncaster Rovers.

After joining Donny permanently in 2018, Anderson became a key figure at the club, making more than 250 appearances and captaining the side. He was also part of the squad that won the League Two title during the 2024/25 season.

Anderson signed for Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2025 and has made 40 appearances for the Shropshire club.
