The Burnley-born midfielder spent time with the Clarets, Blackburn Rovers, and AFC Fylde as a youngster, eventually signing as a scholar for the Mill Farm outfit.

Macadam had a loan spell at Nelson before departing the Coasters in 2019, going on to represent the likes of Northwich Victoria, Nelson, Ashton United and Longridge Town.

Stellar performances in the Northern Premier League caught the eye of Fleetwood Town, where he signed for an undisclosed fee in January 2022 from Ashton.

He found the net on his full debut for the Cod Army that season before being loaned out to League of Ireland Premier Division side Waterford.

Macadam joined Morecambe on a free transfer in July 2024, making 36 appearances for the Shrimps before leaving at the expiry of his contract to sign for the Blues in August 2025 on a one-year deal with an option, having been a trialist during pre-season.

His first goal for United came in a 4-2 win over Forest Green Rovers at Brunton Park in October 2025.
