WALK FOR WILKESY RAISES PHENOMENAL TOTAL

.

Following on from this year's Walk for Wilkesy, a phenomenal total of £1,626 has been raised in aid of Carlisle United Community Sports Trust.

The walk took place on Saturday, 27 September, at Derwentwater, with relatives, staff and supporters coming together to honour former Head of Coaching David Wilkes' memory.

All the money raised will go towards supporting CUFC CST’s mental health and suicide prevention programmes, which aid those in the local community who are struggling while tackling the stigma around mental health.

James Tose, Carlisle United Community Sports Trust CEO said: “On behalf of everyone at Carlisle United Community Sports Trust, we would like to thank everyone at the club's academy for coming together and raising an amazing amount of money in honour of David (Wilkes).

“This donation strengthens our commitment to improving mental health in our community.

“With this support, we can continue to offer services for people in need and focus on improving their health and wellbeing.”

Steven Rudd, Carlisle United Academy Manager added: “It was such a meaningful event and I’d like to thank everyone who attended on the day to make it a special event.

“I’d also like to thank everyone who contributed to the brilliant amount raised, and I am delighted it will go towards supporting those in need in our community.”
