Carlisle United are delighted to announce the signing of defender Tom Anderson from Shrewsbury Town on a loan deal until the end of December.
Anderson, 33, joins the Blues on loan for a second time after a spell in the 2014/15 season, during which he made nine appearances and brings further leadership to the United defence.
The Burnley-born centre-back came through the Clarets academy and gained senior experience during several loan spells at the likes of Hyde, FC Halifax Town, Chesterfield, Port Vale and Doncaster Rovers.
He joined Donny permanently in May 2018 and became a mainstay at the Keepmoat Stadium, appearing over 250 times for the Yorkshire-based outfit.
Anderson's impressive performances in the heart of the Rovers' defence saw him named captain in 2023, and he was part of the side that won the League Two title in the 2024/25 season.
His time at Donny came to an end in May 2025, when he signed for the Shews and has since made 40 appearances for Salop.

Tom has been allocated shirt number 31 and will be eligible to make his United debut tonight against AFC Fylde.
This move is subject to ratification from The FA and National League.
