Carlisle United are thrilled to announce a new three-year partnership with Rickerby LTD, a proud local family business established in 1880.
Rickerby operates across nine branches in Lancashire, Cumbria, Northumberland, The Borders, Durham and parts of Dumfries, providing agricultural specialists with the machinery and equipment they need.
Their range includes CLAAS tractors, balers, combines and telehandlers, alongside products from other leading agricultural and horticultural manufacturers.
With a team of experts, Rickerby offers invaluable advice and support to farmers, contractors and horticultural customers, drawing on decades of industry knowledge.
To mark the occasion, Rickerby were presented with a 2025/26 Carlisle United home shirt at half-time of the club’s recent fixture against Forest Green Rovers. The shirt, featuring ‘Rickerby 30’ on the back, celebrates 30 years of the company’s role as the club’s Pitch Sponsor come the end of this new deal.
Stadium Manager, Dave Mitchell said: "Once the discussions had begun on bigger and better training facilities, it was obvious we would need to add to our equipment options. Grass cutting, aeration, fertilising and weed control would all increase with the additional ten acres to maintain.
"I contacted Rickerbys, our Pitch Sponsors, and we quickly drew up a list of machinery that would fit the bill. All we needed was the green light from the owners, which duly followed. So, of course, as ground staff we are grateful for the owners’ commitment and investment.
"We have had a fantastic relationship with Rickerby over the years, Ken and Martyn are supporters of the club and are always keen to help when circumstances arise.
"Whether it’s big investment like this or the day-to-day spares and repairs that are needed from time to time they can get us back up and running in no time, and we are appreciative of that. More often than not we have short weather windows to get jobs done, so the reliability and quality of the equipment is paramount to keep operations fluid in order to get the work done to the standard demanded.
"We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Rickerby as part of the input that is required to maintain the standard of playing surfaces we have achieved over the last 30 years."
