A ruthless first-half performance saw United claim their third victory of pre-season with a 4-2 victory over Darlington FC at Blackwell Meadows.
Harvey Bunker, Miguel Azeez, Regan Linney and Callum Whelan were all on the scoresheet on a pleasing evening for Rob Elliot's side that provided the opportunity for more valuable minutes ahead of their upcoming Enterprise National League campaign.
Ryan Galvin went close to opening the scoring for United on 3 minutes with a side-footed volley from just inside the area, but his shot went narrowly wide of Bobby Jones' left-hand post.
United did go ahead, however, on 7 minutes when a neat through ball from Cameron Harper found Callum Whelan in space in the penalty box, his drilled delivery across goal found the oncoming run of Harvey Bunker, who made no mistake firing home from close range.
Things nearly got even better for the Blues just two minutes later after David Ajiboye's mazy run carved out an opportunity for the winger, but his shot drifted agonisingly wide of the bottom left corner.
The Cumbrians' best moments in the early stages often came from the right flank, with captain on the night, Whelan and Trialist A combining on multiple occasions, but the final ball halted Carlisle from making further inroads.
Regan Linney found himself in space on 20 minutes, but his powerful effort was well blocked by Quakers defender, Tom Platt.
The Blues capitalised on early momentum when, after more positive work down the right from Trialist A, Miguel Azeez slotted the ball away calmly past Bobby Jones to double the Blues' advantage on 24 minutes.
Linney got himself on the scoresheet just three minutes later, following a drilled delivery from Trialist A that found Ajiboye at the back post, he calmly found the twenty-nine-year-old, Linney then fired past the Darlington keeper at the second attempt to extend United's lead to three.
The hosts managed to peg a firing United side back on 29 minutes, when Ben Hedley made no mistake to fire his effort into the bottom left corner from around 25 yards out.
United's skipper on the night, Whelan, restored United's lead just two minutes later after being left unopposed on the edge of the area and making no mistake to find the bottom corner past a helpless Jones.
Carlisle applied pressure on the Quakers in the closing stages of the first half, but could not add to a productive opening period.
HALF-TIME: Darlington FC 1-4 Carlisle United
A fast-flowing move from United on 55 minutes nearly resulted in a fifth for the Blues but Bobby Jones did well to stop Georgie Kelly from getting on the end of Trialist A's driven cross.
United substitutes Will Rafferty and Jonah Lowes combined well on 67 minutes with the latter finding Ryan Galvin's run into the penalty area before his cross was deflected behind for a corner. The resulting corner from Azeez was defended well by the hosts.
Darlington reduced the deficit to two on 74 minutes when Mark Beck dispatched his penalty with aplomb into the bottom left corner.
Seb Mason had the ball in the back of the net for United on 83 minutes after he smartly followed in Jonah Lowes' placed effort, but the linesman adjudged him to be offside and the Blues were denied a deserved fifth of the night.
The rest of the second period passed without incident and United completed a routine pre-season victory in County Durham.
