Luke Armstrong and Regan Linney netted in United's first victory of pre-season at Mill Farm.
The Blues had two sides feature throughout the content, the first played an hour of action before a new set of outfield players completed the final 30 minutes.
Mark Hughes' men started the contest strong and were immediately on the front foot searching for the opener, with both Armstrong and Linney combining well.
Armstrong opened the scoring on 12 minutes, winning the ball and driving into the hosts' area from the right, before hammering a low effort across goal towards the far corner, which clipped the post on its way in.
On the half-hour mark, Linney made it two. After a chance went begging for the attacker moments earlier, he ensured that his next attempt opened his United account - he drifted in from the left and drove a powerful shot into the bottom corner to the delight of the travelling Blues behind the goal.
In the remainder of the first-half, the Cumbrians should've extended their lead after having an array of chances on the Coasters' goal, whilst Gabe Breeze stood strong at the opposite end making a couple of brilliant saves to keep his clean sheet intact.
HALF-TIME: AFC Fylde 0-2 Carlisle United
The visitors' shot-stopper would start the second-half like he ended the first - making crucial saves to deny Fylde in front of goal as they searched for a way back into the contest.
On 60 minutes, Breeze was the only player to remain on the pitch as all 10 outfield players were substituted, allowing others players within the squad to gain much-needed minutes.
Archie Davies and Georgie Kelly combined well on two separate occasions as United looked to find their third, but the attacker's best chance on goal saw him glance a header wide of the post.
