BEVIS MUGABI SPEAKS AHEAD OF TRURO CITY CONTEST

/

Ahead of Saturday's clash against Truro City at Brunton Park, we spoke to defender Bevis Mugabi.

Speaking to CUTV, he said: "[Wednesday was] Very, very long, especially travelling down on the day, then getting some day beds, then having to perform Wednesday night in a difficult environment was hard, but we managed to get the job done, so that was the main thing.

"I feel like in those type of situations, you just have to grind the result out, especially in this division. No matter how you do it, you just have to get the job done and get the three points and get up the road.

"I look back and think, that was an important three points that we got there, so I'm glad that we got it done."

Talking on his spell at the club so far, Mugabi said: "The fans have been good, the players have been positive. It's a good environment to be in, so you can only get better from here.

"We had a few signings that came around the same time as me, and we've all blended into the team pretty well."

Touching on his defensive partnership with Terell Thomas, he explained: "It's been really positive to be fair. I think he's had a great start to the season himself. I think the whole team has done pretty well. There's a lot more to come from us, I believe.

"We've seen in the past few games that we can probably kill games off a bit earlier, but that's all part and parcel of the process, and we can only improve.

"We've had some positive results, and we've performed in quite a lot of those games, and we've underperformed, and of course against Sutton. I feel like it's just getting that consistency and getting the momentum going into the next few games for as long as possible to get as high up on the table as possible."

When asked what challenge he expect the visitors to pose, the centre-back said: "I feel like every team that comes to Carlisle, they've got an extra 5%, so it's a thing of just focusing on what we need to do to get a result.

"I think it's good pressure to be honest. I feel like it's expected for us to get results, and we're doing everything possible to get those results, so at the end of the day it's down to us to perform.

Ending with a message for the supporters, Bevis said: "Just keep on supporting us. We're going to try our best to get the results, as usual. I just want to send you guys home with a happy smile on your face."
