This is the first time he's been the man in the middle for a United fixture.
He was the referee for last season's National League play-off semi-final between Notts County and Boreham Wood. The Wood were two goals to the good at haf-time, but the Magpies fought back to steal a late, late equaliser. And County left it as late as they could possibly go as they broke Boreham hearts with a winner with almost the last touch of the 120 minutes of action.
