Our under-13 and under-14 academy teams were invited to play in the Newcastle City Juniors Elite Academy cup over the bank holiday weekend, and a huge thank you goes to the organisers for staging a hugely enjoyable and well-run event.
Congratulations go to the under-14 team who battled their way successfully through a tough group stage to reach the Plate Final.
Finley Cookson and Tai Bell scored the goals in a very well deserved 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough.
Other teams taking part in the tournament were Newcastle United, Sunderland, Leeds United, Hearts and the Newcastle City Juniors.
Well done to all of the staff and players who helped to make this a very good experience for all concerned.
