YOUTH: Rotherham

United's third group game in this season's Youth Alliance Cup competition was over in Rotherham, with the Blues

A 2-0 win over Morecambe was followed by a 3-1 victory against Bradford, which put the Cumbrians into a strong position heading into the fixure.

It was a game that had little in it, with it finely balanced heading into the break, but the Blues were eventually undone by a defensive mistake.

Both sides were scrappy in possession, and it was one United came away from knowing that they shouldn't have lost.
