Our next batch of 2020/21 goals starts with two from Jon Mellish in the FA Cup against Hayes and Yeading.
United were 2-0 down before Jon scored a brace of late extra-time goals to take the tie to penalties. Keeper Marcus Dewhurst made some important saves before Gavin Reilly scored the winning penalty to send us through to the second round.
The Blues would go on to be knocked out by Doncaster at that stage at Brunton Park, but Mellish was on the scoresheet again in the 2-1 defeat.
After the planned return of fans was halted in October, the Blue Army were allowed to return at the start of December with 2,000 in attendance for our home game against Salford. Lewis Alessandra scored the first goal back in front of fans across the whole of the EFL, then Rhys Bennett made sure of the three points with a second half header.
The defender would also go on to score in the following game, away at Bradford, in a 1-0 win.
