94/95 - Chances and goals start to flow through October

We continue our trip down memory lane

Carlisle marched through October unbeaten in the league, but they didn’t get it all their own way as draws against Lincoln City (away) and Colchester United (at home) reminded them that they still had plenty of work to do, despite their lofty position in the table.

Normal service was resumed, though, with two back-to-back games against Barnet and Fulham which had the United fans salivating at what was to come.

The Bees were literally demolished at Brunton Park as David Reeves, Simon Davey, Paul Conway and Rod Thomas converted four of the numerous chances created, and Fulham suffered a similar fate as one of the best away performances ever witnessed left the Cumbrians disappointed that they’d only netted three goals at Craven Cottage.

The football was fast-paced, ruthless and jaw-dropping to watch, and the goals just kept coming.
