CUOSC: United boss to host midweek quiz

Chris Beech turns quiz master for the night

16 June 2020

United boss Chris Beech is backing CUOSC’s ‘Carlisle REUnited’ campaign by turning into a ‘quizmaster’.

Instead of putting his players through their paces the ‘gaffer’ will be testing fans on their Blues and general football knowledge in CUOSC's popular virtual pub quiz – ‘Be Just and Quiz On’.

CUOSC are delighted he has agreed to be the host on Wednesday night [17 June] on the video conferencing app Zoom at 7pm.

The £5 entry fee will go into their campaign ‘pot’ to help the club next season when we eventually emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic.

There will be a new 2020/21 season shirt signed by the man himself for the winner. To enter go to http://cuosc.org.uk/carlisle-reunited/be-just-and-quiz-on/

"I'm looking forward to hosting the quiz on Wednesday," Chris said. "CUOSC spoke to me about it earlier in the week and I think it's good that I'll be helping with the Carlisle REUnited fundraising initiative at the same time as bringing us together as a group.

"I've said from day one that I want us all to be pulling in the same direction and it's things like this which help us to achieve that. Hopefully quite a few of our fans will take part and we'll have a bit of fun with it along the way."

With the future of lower league football unclear CUOSC want to re-connect, re-focus and re-energise fans and sponsors to make sure we still have a great club to support.

A host of former players are backing the campaign and some – Derek Asamoah, Dean Walling and Jimmy Glass – have already recorded video appeals.

These recordings and all the details can be found on their website at www.cuosc.org.uk/Carlisle-reunited/

‘Deano’ was a big hit when he hosted a previous ‘Be Just and Quiz On’ on YouTube last month.
