COMMUNITY: A winning day out for four local schools

Four local schools enjoy a trip to Brunton Park

5 November 2019

On Saturday over 100 kids celebrated our win against Macclesfield Town as part of the club’s hugely successful Community Ticket Scheme.

At Saturday home games in term time we have groups attending and Saturday was no exception with groups from Cummersdale School, Inglewood Junior School, Pennine Way Primary School and Castle Carrock School all attending the match free of charge.

Every year CUFC gives thousands of free tickets to local primary schools and community groups in the area, offering a memorable experience to those taking part and helping the club develop its next generation of fans.

The kids get a goody bag including gifts and a voucher for the club shop, and also get to go down the tunnel, and walk round the pitch, before going to the Family Zone where they can meet the players not involved in the squad that day. They then go up to their seats in the Pioneer Stand where they are visited by mascot Olga the Fox before the big kick off.

In each goody bag is an offer where each child who has attended with their group can then come to our next home match free of charge, with an adult who can redeem a half price ticket.

As always a big thanks Andrew Gordon, Head of Relationships at The Cumberland, and Stephen Fraser who work hard to make their day special.

The Cumberland continue as sponsor of the club’s Community Ticket Scheme and the Community Stand until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Why not get involved? If you'd like your school or group to take part in this scheme, please email louise.banks@carlisleunited.co.uk for more information.
