KIT LAUNCH: Fans give thumbs up to new home and away strips

City centre launch event a huge success

22 June 2019

The ERREA truck caused a real stir in Carlisle city centre this morning as it took top billing for the launch of the 2019/20 home and away kits.

A traditional blue home kit was complemented by a striking mint green away kit, and keeper strips which will see Adam Collin and Louis Gray wear orange and black for the coming campaign.

The first customer of the day was huge United fan Ben Haworth, and he was given two tickets to each of the July home friendlies by way of a thank you for being the first person in the queue well ahead of the 10am opening time.

Nine-year-old Josh Nanson was the first Junior Blue to secure his purchase, and he was rewarded with a surprise which put a huge smile on his face when he found out that he was on the receiving end of a match day mascot experience, which he intends to take up when Crawley Town visit Brunton Park at the beginning of August.

Queues remained steady throughout the day, and there was even a visit from keeper coach Craig Wight and defenders Jarrad Branthwaite and Jack Iredale to add to the excitement.

Commercial manager Jenny Anderson said: "Firstly, and importantly, I'd like to thank the Blues Store staff for their hard work over the last few days as they put in a lot of time and effort to get the ERREA truck stocked up and ready.

"Following on from that we have to thank the fans. They came out in numbers and the comments and feedback we've received have been amazing.

"Particularly popular with fans young and old has been the mint green away kit, but the design of the home strip has also received praise, mostly because people seem to feel that it has a very traditional feel.

"We're in the city centre again tomorrow and, judging by today, we expect it to be another very busy event."

The ERREA truck opens its doors at 11am on Sunday 23 June and will receive a visit from assistant manager Gav Skelton and midfielder Liam McCarron between 12pm and 1pm.

Please note – the Blues Store on Warwick Road will reopen at 11am on Monday 24 June.
