Our United for Business members received a fascinating insight into the complex world of refereeing when they welcomed Dave Allison as their guest speaker ahead of the Exeter City home game.
Dave has over 40 years of service to the professional game under his belt and, as National Group Director of Professional Match Officials, was able to discuss all of the current issues [from VAR and goal line technology to how officials are portrayed in the media] as well as share stories from his own time as a man in the middle.
Chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: “I think all of the United for Business members will agree that Dave’s insight into what is a difficult and challenging job was fascinating.
“On behalf of everybody who attended I would like to thank him for giving us some of his time and for being so open to questions and opinions. It was an excellent way to kick off another very enjoyable match day at Brunton Park.”
