Carlisle United Supporters’ Group (CUSG) will be raising funds on Boxing Day via bucket collections at Brunton Park.

Formed of representatives of independent groups of Carlisle United Supporters and unaffiliated supporters, the objectives and purpose of the group are to provide:

+ A forum for supporters to work together in collaboration with representatives of CUSG to improve the club and build relations between the club and supporters.

+ An opportunity for supporters and CUSG to engage with the club: to give feedback, raise concerns, make suggestions and share ideas

+ To receive updates and key communications from the club.

+ An opportunity for the club to engage with supporters, consult and seek opinions, communicate plans and implement supporter focused initiatives.

During 2019 CUSG has been involved in a number of initiatives, the highlights of which were:

+ Hosting two fans forums and raising (via bucket collections ) £344 for the charity Jigsaw.
+ Organising and hosting ‘An evening with Jimmy Glass’.
+ Marketing and sale of 500 ‘Jimmy Glass’ commemorative pin badges.
+ Polling supporters for suggestions for the renaming of the bars in Brunton Park.
+ Facilitating a number of improvements to disabled facilities at Brunton Park.
+ Facilitating the collection of and display of club memorabilia in the Sunset Suite.
+ Formalising a process whereby fans can put questions to the club (and other supporters groups) and receive timely answers.
+ Facilitating the collection of and display of the club's replica shirts from the last 30 years.
+ Appointing a Supporters Liaison Officer.
+ Organising a 2019/20 prediction competition.

Terry McCarthy, the events coordinator for CUSG explained how the group is making a difference: “The interaction between the club and supporters that CUSG promotes was obviously influential in the club achieving fourth place (from all EFL and Premiership clubs) for fan engagement in the “Fan Engagement Index” recently published by faninsights.co.uk.

"We want to keep building on the solid foundations. We hope fans can make a donation at the bucket collection, so that we can invest in projects that provide real benefit to the fans.

"Alternatively, we’ve set up a PayPal account at PayPal.me/carlisleunitedsg where fans can also donate to CUSG projects."
