United’s under-18 side have confirmed their friendly list as they look forward to pre-season training and the build-up to the new campaign.
Academy boss Darren Edmondson said: “We think we’ve got a good schedule of fixtures put together for the lads and, along with the rest of the programme, it’ll lead to a good build-up as we go through the pre-season programme.
“There are some strong academy sides for us to go up against and that will help us to get the lads in focus for the tough season ahead.
"It’s always a big learning curve for the first years, but as things pick up we should see them start to grow in confidence, particularly as they get to know how each other plays and how we want to do things.
“It’s been a good summer break but we’re already looking forward to getting back together and hopefully guiding more lads through to a successful end result, as happened for Sam Adewusi, Max Brown and Keiron Olsen this time round.”
