Blistering heat and baking hot sunshine were there to greet the lads as they returned for pre-season training this morning - but there was no let-up as they were put through their paces for session number one.
One noticeable thing from the session was the amount of time the players spent with the ball - at one point completing a 400 metre circuit at the same time as keeping a football under their control.
United boss John Sheridan said: "It was a good first session. The lads looked lively and bright and you can see that they're pleased to be back at work.
"The heat was a test, but everyone got on with it with ni grumbles. They all know the target is that first game against Exeter in August, so everyone we do between now and then will be with that in mind."
