Carlisle United’s Community Ticket Scheme [sponsored by The Cumberland] went from strength-to-strength last season and we're looking to expand even further as we head into the 2018/19 campaign!

1,765 children came to Brunton Park to attend a league fixture free of charge last season from a total of 109 schools, community groups and local football teams. That figure was an increase of 300 from the 2016/17 season.

The Cumberland Community Stand will be moving over to section 8 of the Pioneer Stand for the 2018/19 season which means we have a larger capacity for even more children and young people to attend our matches using this excellent scheme ... at no cost!

Ticket office manager Tarn Simmons said: “We've been running the Community Ticket Scheme alongside Andrew Gordon at The Cumberland for 15 years now and it's something which has continued to grow and develop.

"We know young fans are the supporters of the future and we like to do everything we can to encourage them to come and watch live football at Brunton Park.

“The news that the stand is moving over to the Pioneer Stand is exciting because it allows us to invite more children to our matches. We now have a capacity of over 600 for each game, so we are looking for as many groups and schools as possible to get on board next season.

“We usually aim the Community Ticket Scheme at primary school aged children, however, we would love to see groups with children and young people aged up to 18 come along.

"We see a lot of young football teams and community groups, and we're also looking to expand our database so we can include as many local groups from across the county.

“Another added bonus is that we try to organise as many player appearances as possible ahead of the groups coming to our matches, so one of our first team players could be coming to join in your training session, or take part in a history lesson in your school!

“Once you've attended a match with your group, you will then be given a voucher to attend the next home league fixture free of charge, whilst also being able to redeem a half price adult ticket for the same fixture.

“We also have to say a massive thank you to The Cumberland who continue to support us with this scheme. We're looking forward to working with them again as we go into the 2018/19 season.”
