The under-18 side came up against a strong Derby County outfit on Saturday afternoon as they competed in what was a very good game of football.
Youth boss Darren Edmondson said: “This was another very good workout for us. Derby were very imposing physically and they played some good stuff.
“They were composed when in possession of the ball and they supported each other with intelligent movement. Our lads worked off that and they got their heads down to get a foothold in the game.
“It was an excellent learning curve and a very worthwhile exercise.”
