Everything you need to know ahead of the weekend home game
United bring the first month of the New Year to a close with a home game against a much-improved Barnet side who now sit on the brink of the play-off places. Two hard-earned draws have kept the Cumbrians in the automatic promotion spots in League Two but the Blues are looking for a return to winning ways at the weekend.
Manager Keith Curle said: “I know it’s a message we’ve repeated but our last good run started with a couple of draws. We’ve created enough chances in all of the games this month to have come away with more points and that gives us something to build on.
“The pleasing thing is that we know we have the full backing of the fans. They’ve stuck with us, even when things haven’t always been going our way, and I can’t stress enough how important that is.
“We’ve had some excellent numbers home and away recently and it would be fantastic to see everyone there and cheering us on again on Saturday. We make Brunton Park a very hard place for teams to come when we’re all pulling in the same direction and, with 19 games left to play, we’re all looking for a big effort in every area, on and off the pitch, to see this over the line.”

United fans can pick up their copy of the brand new song – Cumbrians! – this week as it hits the Blues Store ahead of the Barnet home game on Saturday morning.
The song, written by North West based musician and composer Steve Brown, has been backed by the Carlisle United Supporters’ Groups and is the brainchild of lifelong Blues fan Peter Scholes.
Speaking this week, Peter said: “We are both thrilled to finally get the song onto a CD and ready for the Blues Store. It has been a labour of love for the club we love.
“It would be amazing to hear it played around the ground and even sang by the fans in the Warwick. We really hope the fans warm to the tune.”
The CD will be available from the Blues store on Saturday morning, priced at £3. All profits go to some very good causes – click HERE for more details.
