Michael Raynes on the Oldham victory
We spoke to defender Michael Raynes about his goal against Oldham in the EFL Trophy fixture on Tuesday night."It was a great game for the neutrals," he said. "We're disappointed from a defensive point of view to concede the goals we did, but I think we showed a lot of character to come back and win.
"Things aren't always going to go your way so we've got to be able to dig deep, and that's what we did. We came from behind twice and I think that shows what we've got in the dressing room.
"As a centre half the last thing you want to see is Charlie Wyke coming on so it was great to see him get the winner. I'm an honest man, it was definitely his goal, but I was happy with the one I got anyway! I know I need to get more goals so it was nice to sort of back heel one in! Hopefully they'll be like buses."
"Saturday is a big game now," he admitted. "We've gone through August unbeaten so we want to carry that on. It's been a really demanding schedule for the boys with the Saturday-Tuesday games. Everyone has looked after themselves and been professional.
"The Accrington games are usually good games. It's a good challenge for us now. We reacted well after the Derby cup game so we need to do exactly the same on Saturday."
"Oldham came out in the second half like a different team. Fair play to them in the second half, they were outstanding and they caught us flat-footed as soon as the second half started. At the end of the day our job is to not concede goals - we conceded four but credit to the lads because we managed to get ourselves out of it.
"As I say, I'm really enjoying it at the moment. There's some good competition for my position and they're all good lads so we're keeping each other going."
