United travel to Barnsley on Friday 16 December
The Carlisle United U18 side have been drawn to face Barnsley in the third round of this season’s FA Youth Cup competition – tie to be played on Friday 16 December at Oakwell, kick off 7pm.United have been through two tough away ties already - against FC United of Manchester and Chesterfield - to get to this stage whilst Barnsley take part for the first time as they enter at the third round stage.
Youth boss Darren Edmondson said: “We’re certainly having to do things the hard way. It’s a competition the lads are enjoying and they’ll get a real buzz when they walk out at Oakwell.
“That’s a big stadium with a lot of history so they’ll have to deal with the occasion, as they have in the first two rounds, and hopefully they’ll go on to play some good football.”
