Update from the Saturday friendly
United's first pre-season friendly following their four day mini-break was the trip to face Barrow at Holker Street.Below is a minute-by-minute update from the game.

1 min - A good run from Turnbull earned the home side a corner. A short routine brought a free kick on the edge of the box, but Jones was on hand to hook the delivery away.
4 mins - Shaun Miller spread the play wide and a deep cross from Grainger curled late as it dropped from high. Dixon did well to readjust and tip it onto the bar.
6 mins - Williams did well to beat Atkinson but Gillespie was well positioned to save a driven effort.
11 mins - Neat football from the home side left Harvey in space 22-yards out. He went for a first time shot which smashed down onto the line from the underside of the bar.
17 mins - The hosts took the lead when Harrison pounced on loose control from Grainger. He fell to the floor as the defender tried to recover and Hannah stepped up to smash the spot kick into the bottom corner. Barrow 1 - 0 United.
23 mins - Devitt whipped a ball through to Shaun Miller and his touch earned the side a corner. Livesey cleared it, but Grainger hooked it back in for Raynes to nod down. Miller went for the 10-yard volley but he couldn't keep it down and it went high.
25 mins - A cross from Hughes needed a fingertip touch from Gillespie as it threatened to creep in under the bar.
31 mins - Miller was almost through but Dixon raced out to close the angles.
35 mins - Gillespie had to go full length to touch a teasing shot from Hannah round his far post.
36 mins - A well-worked Barrow corner routine ended with a header from Diarra which dropped just over the target.
42 mins - United went close when Grainger bent a cross at the near post. Wyke glanced it past Dixon but the foot of the post came to the rescue.
44 mins - A ball over the top sent Devitt clear and he beat the keeper to the bounce with a toe poke. It looked to be going in until it spun wide of the upright.
45 mins - Reggie Lambe sparked an attack when he drove from deep. He shot low and hard and Dixon was relieved to see it fly an inch wide of his bottom corner.
50 mins - Carlisle corner cleared after Wyke flicked it high. Devitt nipped in to recover it but Diarra made a block as the shot came in.
60 mins - McKee, Kennedy, Joyce and Adams on for Lambe, Penn, Devitt and Jones.
67 mins - A throw into the Carlisle boc found O'Connor with his back to goal. He spun quickly and drilled a shot onto the outside of the post.
70 mins - Adams lofted a high free kick into the area but it dropped beyond everyone and just past the post.
75 mins - Brough and Tom Miller on for Ellis and Raynes.
77 mins - A McKee through ball almost found Wyke but Barrow did well to cover the move and sweep it clear.
82 mins - Salkeld on for Wyke.
84 mins - Howarth broke as a Carlisle corner was cleared with the ball at his feet. He unleashed a piledriver from 30 yards but it went just wide.
90 mins - Chance for Adams as he beat his man at a tight angle. His shot was goal bound until Livesey got in the way.
