WALKING FOOTBALL: McVitie's add crunch to Walking Football sessions

13 December 2016

McVitie's provide post match biscuits

Carlisle United Community Sports Trust hold Walking Football sessions for over 50s on Tuesday and Friday afternoons and McVitie's in Carlisle have kindly donated post-match biscuits for all players.

The sessions, which started in November 2014, continue to go from strength to strength with around 50 players taking part every week.

Community Sports Trust manager John Halpin said: "McVitie's in Carlisle heard that we enjoyed a cup of tea and biscuits after our games and kindly offered to sponsor the group's biscuits.

"We invited them down to Brunton Park and they brought a fantastic selection of biscuits for the lads to enjoy, which was massively appreciated.

"We'd like to thank Tony Kidd, Iain Kidd and Ben Platton from McVitie's for their fantastic gesture.

"Our Walking Football sessions are increasingly popular and they are important in terms of getting people out of the house to socialise with others.

"The sessions have expanded so we now hold two a week, and new players are always welcome."
