Keith Curle ahead of the Saturday trip to LutonManager Keith Curle spoke to us ahead of the trip to Luton at the weekend.
“As we said on Tuesday night, everything we do now is about making our league campaign a success,” he said. “Cup games are distractions but that’s what they’re there for. They help to generate excitement and talking pints but, once you’re out of them, it’s back to the main business.
“The last two results have been very disappointing but what we don’t do is lick our wounds. We’re back to our league campaign on Saturday and we will be competitive. That was the message to the lads when we all got back together on Thursday morning.
“We’re back to work now and I know they understand that. We’ve got ourselves into a good position by being professional, diligent and by doing our jobs to the best of our ability, and none of that is going to change.”
“Luton are also in a good position in the table and they’ll want to keep that going,” he commented. “We’ve had them watched and we think we know how they will try to cause us problems. The pleasing thing is we know we have players who can deal with that and who have the attributes to turn the game in our favour.
“Looking back to last season, it was an unbelievable game. It was an example of two good teams who had a real desire to win. I have no doubt it will be the same again.”
