MANAGER: It's part of our due diligence

Keith Curle on Cardiff forward Rhys Healey

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock revealed in his press conference last Friday that Carlisle United had shown interest in Manchester-born forward Rhys Healey as thoughts turn to the January transfer window for clubs at all levels.

Healey, 22, is currently on-loan at Newport County where five goals in 13 appearances have caught the eye of a number of scouts and clubs.

Speaking after Saturday’s game at Luton, Curle said: “Part of our due diligence is to make enquiries about players we think can add to the group.

"We’re respectful of the fact he’s a Newport player at the moment so this is just all part of the processes and procedures we go through.

“It wasn’t an official approach in any way. I know Neil very well and it was just a case of asking about the availability of his player.”
