Jason Kennedy looks ahead to the Yeovil home game
We caught up with midfielder Jason Kennedy ahead of training on Thursday to get his thoughts on the Yeovil home game.“We dug in well at Luton,” he said. “We obviously had the man sent off but we worked hard. I thought it was a great game of football. It was a pleasure to be involved in it and both teams were really going at each other.
“It’s always difficult when you go down to ten men, especially against a team like Luton. They were good going forward and Michael [Raynes] is a great leader for us at the back. To lose someone of his calibre at that time wasn’t ideal, but the lads grafted and got the result in the end.
“He’s a big voice within the group and he’s someone we’ll need on Saturday. For his red card to have been overturned is a massive boost for us."
Speaking about his tenth goal of the season, he said: “I was in the right place at the right time again. It just fell nicely to me and I got my rewards.
"It was good to get the lead so early on and we were just disappointed not to hold on to it. I keep getting in the box and the chances are just falling at my feet. Whether it’s from a yard or 30 yards out, they all count.
“I never thought I would ever get double figures in a season, so I’m pleased to be there now. 15 is my next target. I’m playing on the right, so I’m slightly out of position, but it gives me that freedom and licence to get in the box a bit more than I would if I was playing in the middle.
"A lot of my goals have come from set pieces as well, which we’ve worked hard on with the coaching staff, in terms of getting in the right positions and picking up second balls.
“We'll be looking to do more of the same again Saturday, whoever gets on the end of it. As long as we work hard and put a shift in we know we’ve got the players and the team who can overcome Yeovil and get the result we need.”
