Business Club trip to Dovenby Hall
The fourth Carlisle United Business Club meeting of the season takes a different format on Thursday 8 December as we head to Dovenby Hall, the home of M Sport.The evening meeting will include a tour of the premises, presentation from Managing Director Malcolm Wilson and opportunities for guests to network whilst enjoying refreshments.
Dovenby Hall is the nerve centre of Ford's World Rally operation. A former hospital that enjoys an idyllic setting in the heart of the Cumbrian countryside, the site has been extensively renovated and the old manor house now sits next to a state-of-the-art workshop.
The extensive site contains everything the team needs to function, with the vast majority of components produced in-house. The rally cars have the whole world as their stage, but everything really happens in a quiet corner of Cumbria.
M-Sport's premises at Dovenby Hall set a benchmark in rallying. Few teams can boast a home set in 115 acres of lush parkland, the modern technology and engineering facilities found in the new workshops contrasting with the beautiful Cumbria countryside and the restored splendour of Dovenby Hall itself, a listed building of special historic interest
Below is the itinerary for the meeting:
4pm - Business Club members to meet at Brunton Park Sponsor Lounge (West Stand Reception)
4.15pm – Bus leaves Brunton Park for Dovenby Hall
Members who wish to make their own way – to be at Dovenby Hall for 5pm
5.15pm – Welcome to Dovenby Hall and Malcolm Wilson to address members
6.00pm – Group one - tour, group two - networking and refreshments
6.45pm – Group two - tour, group one - networking and refreshments
7.30pm – Bus to depart Dovenby Hall and make way back to Carlisle
8.30pm - Approx arrival back in Carlisle where guests are welcome to join us for 'Business Club Christmas Drinks' – Bartons Yard at The Halston – first drinks on us!!
