BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Cheltenham Town

16 August 2016

Information ahead of the Tuesday night game

United came out of the first week of the season unbeaten and they’ll be looking to build momentum as they go into another busy week, starting with the visit of Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night.

Manager Keith Curle said: “Cheltenham had another positive result at the weekend, with their draw at Mansfield, and they’re full of confidence after what they did last season. When you talk about the importance of momentum you get a real example of that with a team which won promotion and is now doing everything it can to carry that on.

“They know this level well so coming back hasn’t been a big step for them. They have good players who can cause problems and who will come here to carry on the good work they’ve already done.”

“As we’ve seen in the last two games, teams will come here and try to nullify us, and that shows respect for the way we’ve started the season,” he continued. “We need to be patient in our build up and we have to back ourselves knowing we’ll create enough chances in the 90 minutes to win the game.

“There’s confidence in the group that they can get something from every game and we want our fans, home and away, to know they will see their players give everything as they aim to get the result we all want.”

Catering

Our brand new catering outlets in the Pioneer Foods Stand (east side of the stadium) will be in full operation for the game this evening.

As we continue to recover from Storm Desmond work is ongoing on returning hot food capability to the Warwick Road and Paddock areas of the ground.

We hope to have these facilities in place as soon as possible – catering vans are positioned externally in the main car park (west side of the stadium) for the provision of hot food options.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Challenge 25

We are operating the ‘Challenge 25’ policy at Brunton Park this season.

Please do not be offended if you are asked for ID when purchasing alcohol and if you appear to be under the age of 25 to our bar staff.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Match Day Ticket Sales

Our ticket office staff are now back in the main building on the west side of the stadium and are ready to deal with all of your ticket sales and queries throughout the week.

Head to the main ticket office windows, adjacent to the main entrance, during working hours.

Please note – the Pioneer Stand ticket office and Paddock ticket office are both open on match days. Tickets for these areas of the stadium can be purchased from their satellite ticket offices as normal in the lead up to the game.

The ticket office is open from 10am to 5pm on weekdays (and until kick off for midweek games) and from 10am to 5.15pm on weekend match days.

It is worth noting that entry can be gained on match days by showing your ticket confirmation email on your smart phone or equivalent device. Simply present the relevant section of your eTicket for scanning at point of entry.

The Mascots

Our mascots tonight are Niall Rotherham and Matthew Aston.

Their favourite players are Jabo Ibehre and Danny Grainger respectively and they both admit to having very special memories from the Everton game.

Have a good night guys!

The Man in the Middle

Our match referee tonight is Mr Michael Salisbury.

This is his first visit to Brunton Park having joined the Football League list this season.

He has taken charge of one game so far this season – the Newport away victory at Leyton Orient last weekend – where he showed just two yellow cards.

Our betting partner Sky Bet has some fantastic odds available on all match markets – click HERE for more details.

The Match Programme

This week we get to know Max Crocombe just a little bit better than we knew him before as we talk about New Zealand, favourite Lord of the Rings characters and the best save he has ever made.

Packed with stats, facts, history and features, and priced at just £2, it’s one not to be missed.
