Academy U11 side make friends in Liverpool tournament
The CUFC Academy U11 side competed in the Stephen Packer Cup held at Liverpool FC Academy earlier this month and they came away having made a lot of new friends from their trip into Merseyside.
The lads went up against Blackburn Rovers, Chesterfield, Hull City, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan in the group stages and were beaten by hosts Liverpool in a very good game in the quarter-finals.
Academy coach Mark Birch said: "It was a fantastic experience for the lads and they got to play at a very good facility.
"We played some excellent football along the way against very good opposition. We'd like to thank Liverpool for the way they looked after us and we'd also like to thank the staff and parents who came along to help on the day.
"It was a really good day out and the lads were a credit to themselves and the club."
