United's run of four consecutive victories came to a muddy halt at Bury as a solitary goal for the home side was enough to take the points.
Youth coach Vince Overson said: "The conditions weren't the best so it was never going to be a day for passing the ball.
"Having said that, their goal came from lazy defending by us and that was disappointing. Overall we gave possession away far too easily and we didn't create enough chances to have deserved to get anything from what was a frustrating game."
