FA YOUTH CUP: Another chance for the lads to show what they can do

9 November 2015

FA Youth Cup second round details confirmed

United’s extra time heroics against Tranmere Rovers last week have earned them another home tie in round two of this season’s FA Youth Cup.

Doncaster Rovers will be our visitors - and they also needed extra time to beat Category 2 side Barnsley in their first round meeting at the Keepmoat Stadium in October.

The sides last met in the Youth Alliance Cup in March this year where goals from Harvey Moyes and Connor Hammell took the Cumbrians through what was a very keenly contested encounter.

Academy manager Alan Moore said: “They’re a very good side and there’s no doubt it will be another tough game.

“The Youth Alliance Cup game in March went to the very last kick and I think it’ll be another where both sides will want the win.

“They came to watch the Tranmere game and I know they will come here to put on a performance. It’s another one for the lads to show everybody what they can do under the lights and on the main pitch here at Brunton Park.”

Admission will be £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions. U16s are free of charge (U11s must be accompanied by an adult).

United v Doncaster Rovers, Tuesday 17 November, Brunton Park, kick off 7pm
