NCS partnership continues to flourish
Throughout the academic year the National Citizenship Service partnership between Caldew School and Carlisle United Football Club has continued to flourish.
Another fifteen Year 12 students have signed up for the NCS Easter programme and we are delighted to report that another 30 students from Year 11 students have already signed up for the extended summer experience.
John Sander, the NCS Coordinator at the club, said: "I have been delighted with the response and attitude of the young people I have met and worked with to date.
“Each group has conducted itself with maturity and responsibility and made a major impact in their local community."
Graduates from previous cohorts are now taking part in a variety of projects after completing their NCS award.
Recently, in partnership with the Caldew School Young Enterprise group, past graduates have completed a high profile 'Seatathon' where eleven Year 12 students sat on every seat (7000) at Brunton Park - no mean feat!
The sponsorship money raised from this day long event will be split between Comic Relief and the Young |Enterprise team.
Hopefully further groups will continue to benefit from the opportunities that the NCS project can offer them.
