Midfielder Brad Potts joins Blackpool on two-year deal
Carlisle United midfielder Brad Potts has today joined League One side Blackpool on a two-year deal, with an additional year option, following agreement of a compensation package for the highly-rated youngster.
Potts, 20, came through United’s two-year YTS programme to earn his first professional contract ahead of the 2012/13 season, having been involved with the first team squad at various stages through the previous campaign.
He settled quickly and his initial one-year contract was quickly converted to a three-year deal. He was offered a new contract with United at the end of last season but opted for a move to join the Tangerines following talks with his new club held this week.
He scored 10 goals in 118 appearances for the Blues which included 37 starts in the last campaign.
Manager Keith Curle said: “Brad is a good, young player who now moves on to a new challenge.
"He knows League One football and he's going to a club where he will need to establish himself and push on.
"He's been an excellent player for this club for a number of years and we all wish him the very best as he now goes to join Blackpool."
