CUSC London Branch purchase vital equipment
Carlisle United’s media department received a huge boost this month when CUSC London Branch provided just under £2,000 of sponsorship to purchase much-needed camera and audio equipment ahead of the new season.
A switch from the current online video hosting platform, scheduled to be complete by the beginning of July, necessitated an upgrade of equipment and the London Branch were more than happy to step in to help with the acquisition of an HD Camera (with tripod), external microphone and audio/digital recording sets which are all compatible with the new service provider.
London Branch chairman Simon Clarkson said: “We raised extra funds through sales of our Shankly t-shirt, which was embraced and supported by all fans of the club, not just the London Branch.
“We wanted to make sure the profits went to something that would benefit all fans. The great thing about this donation is the enjoyment all fans will get from the enhancement in quality of the interviews that form an integral part of keeping the fans informed on Carlisle United news. We know how much it is appreciated by the media team and we’re delighted that we were able to help.”
Media officer Andy Hall said: “The London Branch contacted the club to inform us they had raised a significant amount of cash from the sale of the Shankly shirts and they asked if there were any projects they could help with.
“When we spoke about the need for an upgrade to our camera and audio equipment they were very quick to jump on board. I can’t thank them enough for the purchase of this equipment as it allows us to continue to provide vital services once our platform switch has been completed at the end of June. It’s a superb gesture from the Branch and we will make sure the new camera is put to very good use as quickly as possible.”
The purchase of this equipment, which will include a new digital camera to be used by the commercial department, complements another busy and full season of support and sponsorship from our London Branch members.
Their support this season has consisted of:
+ Sponsorship of academy coach David Wilkes.
+ Sponsorship of the touchline in front of the Pioneer Stand as part of the Pitch Squares sponsorship scheme.
+ Memberships of the Blues Lotto scheme.
+ Sponsorship of YouTube and United Player match highlights packages
+ Associate Match Sponsorship of the game against Accrington Stanley in November.
+ Match Sponsorship of the final home game of the season against Hartlepool United.
+ Sponsorship of the CUFC Ladies team games against Stockport County Blues, Bury Girls and Ladies and Leigh RMI Ladies.
+ Support of the media and commercial departments with profits from the #shanklyshirt and 40 Club.
CUSC LB information officer Jamie Grubb said: “We wanted to ensure that we celebrated our 40th Anniversary season in style, and the list represents the largest amount ever donated by the London Branch in any one season.
“The sponsorship of David Wilkes and the Ladies team also means the Branch continues to support the club at all levels, from the first team right through to youth and Ladies teams. This is something we believe to be very important.”
