FOOTBALL LEAGUE: New members elected to board

23 June 2015

New members elected to Football League Board

Brighton & Hove Albion Chief Executive, Paul Barber and Wolverhampton Wanderers Chief Executive, Jez Moxey have been elected to the Board of Directors of The Football League by Championship clubs.  

They will be joined on the Board by Millwall Chief Executive, Andy Ambler who has been elected to represent League 1 clubs after standing down as a Championship representative following the Lions’ relegation at the end of the 2014/15 campaign.

Greg Clarke, the Chairman of The Football League said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Jez and Paul on to the Board and to welcome Andy back.  Each of them has enormous experience in professional football, as well as being widely respected by our clubs.  I very much look forward to working with all three of them in the period ahead.” 

Paul Barber and Jez Moxey join Middlesbrough’s Keith Lamb in representing Championship clubs on the Board. 

Paul Barber said: “I’m grateful to Championship clubs for electing me to serve on the Board.  It is a genuine privilege and I look forward to making a contribution to The Football League along with my fellow directors.” 

Jez Moxey said: “It is a privilege and honour to have been voted onto the Football League board by colleagues from Championship clubs.  I look forward to working with the Chairman, CEO and the other directors of The Football League. I will do what I can to provide positive support, help and guidance on the various issues and challenges that the League faces. Part of the role is to protect and promote the interests of the Championship as well as the League as a whole and I will always keep the clubs at the forefront of my thinking."  

Andy Ambler will represent League 1 clubs alongside Scunthorpe United Chief Executive, James Rodwell.  

Andy Ambler said: “I’m delighted to be able to continue on the Board of The Football League and I would like to thank League 1 clubs for supporting my candidacy.  The League has made genuine progress in recent seasons and I look forward to playing my part in its future.” 

League 2 clubs will continue to be represented on the Board by Oxford United Director, Ian Lenagan.
