U13 Girls Cup competition off to a great start
The Community Sports Trust hosted the Girls U13 Kinder Sport Community Cup at the Neil Centre last Friday with teams from five local schools taking part - Trinity, William Howard, Queen Elizabeth Grammar (Penrith), Ullswater Penrith and Richard Rose Central.
The league games were played in a very competitive spirit and Trinity and William Howard eventually made it through to the final.
The teams went head to head in an exciting game and Trinity ran out as the winners with a hard earned 2-0 victory.
"I'd like to say thank you to the schools, and particularly to the girls who took part, for the spirit in which they approached this competition," John Halpin said.
"Everybody came here to enjoy themselves and we had the added bonus of seeing some really good football as well. Congratulations go to Trinity who will now represent the city in the area finals in January."
The area final will take place at Blackburn Rovers, week commencing 12 January 2015. The regional final will then be held at Barnsley, week commencing 9 February 2015. The national final will be on Sunday 22 March at Wembley Stadium before the kick off of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.
