CUFC Futsal group attend tournament in Newcastle
The Carlisle United Futsal squad participated in their annual FA Four Nations tournament trip, primarily to support England, held in the Northumbria University Sports Centre in Newcastle last week.
The four teams involved were England, Cyprus, Qatar & USA.
England won the tournament after beating Cyprus 5-0, Qatar 3-0 and battling out a 1-1 draw with the USA.
The trip was organised with the help of former United keeper Tony Elliott, who is now the England Futsal goalkeeper coach. Former United youth team keeper Jordan Parker was also in the England squad.
Carlisle United Futsal manager James Tose said: “The trip was organised to welcome our new scholars to the club and to give them the opportunity to meet their new team-mates for the 2014/15 season.
"It's given the new players an insight into what international standard Futsal is all about and will hopefully stand them in good stead for next season.
"I would like to thank Tony Elliott for giving the lads the opportunity to meet the England players and coaching staff after the game and for making it a night to remember."
