INTERVIEW: It was very disappointing

Midfielder on the Leyton Orient game

Midfielder James Berrett spoke to us following the disappointing defeat at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

"It was a poor performance from us," he said. "We had a good first half but you never want to concede a goal just before half time. It makes it even more difficult when you're playing a team like Leyton Orient who are at the top of the league.

"We then came out at the start of the second half and conceded within a couple of minutes again, which put us on the back foot."

"That second goal really knocked us and we were giving them too much space to play their foot ball in, which they capitalised on," he added. "The second half was terrible and we folded after their second goal. It was very disappointing because, like I say, we'd kept things tight in the first half.

"I think they worked harder than us in the second half and they deserved their goals. You can tell that they're full of confidence but we struggled to close them down. I don't think we troubled the keeper at all which is one of the most disappointing things."

"Colchester on Saturday is a massive game now," he admitted. "They got a good result today but we've been on a decent run of form at home lately. We'll be hoping to carry that on.

"We've struggled against some of the teams around us this season and we know that that's where we need to improve."
